北京時間12月23日 ，瑞贝據《太陽報》報道 ，卡女女性裁判員瑞貝卡-韋爾奇將執法足總杯第三輪的性裁新历一場比賽，從而創造新的法足曆史 。
根據英媒報道，总杯瑞貝卡-韋爾奇已經被任命為了1月8日 ，创造在聖安德魯斯球場進行的加油将执 ，伯明翰與普利茅斯兩個俱樂部之間進行足總杯第三輪比賽的瑞贝主裁判 。
隨著這一任命的卡女發生，這項世界上最古老的性裁新历杯賽 ，終於又一次開啟了新的法足篇章。
瑞貝卡同樣也是总杯第一位負責英國足球聯賽的女性主裁判 ，她在4月5日的创造時候 ，執法了哈羅蓋特鎮與韋爾港之間的加油将执比賽 。
38歲的瑞貝卡當時曾經表示，她並不認為自己充當了一個開拓者的角色 。
在接受天空體育采訪時 ，瑞貝卡談到 ：“我還在努力讓自己沉寂下來。我在周六的時候得知了這個消息，現在我還沒有回到現實之中呢。我很幸運能夠得到這個機會 ，我對此真的感到很興奮 。”
“我爸爸是我最大的粉絲 ，所以他對此也很高興。我媽媽則對足球不太了解 ，她也很興奮，但我想她其實並不清楚為什麽 。他們真的很為此而感到驕傲就是了 。”
“這其實並不如我先前所想的 ，11年前當我決定成為一名裁判員的時候，我絲毫沒有考慮過自己會出現在這樣的比賽之中 。在過去的11年時間裏 ，這種變革如同一場風暴般的席卷而來 。現在 ，我距離我職業生涯中最重要的一場比賽 ，還有一周的時間 。”
“我總是會強調這一點 ，在我所有的職業生涯的晉升道路上 ，我之所以會被任命，是因為我在榜單上排名在前十名之列 ，而不是因為什麽其他的因素起了作用 。我對我們的製度有信心 ，而且我從中得到了獎勵 。”
早些時候 ，法國女性裁判員史蒂芬妮-弗拉帕德執法了尤文與基輔迪納摩之間的歐冠比賽。而今年3月份 ，她還執法了世界杯預選賽荷蘭對陣拉脫維亞的比賽 。
