11月30日上午 ，国安北京國安俱樂部官博發文向巴坎布道別 ，将席将重建這意味著民主剛果前鋒已經提前解約離隊 。尔瓦至此 ，名外昔日在中超賽場叱吒風雲的援出國安“四大外援”已全部離開。
國安俱樂部官博充滿感情地寫道 ：“雖然你經常迷路 ，战联但在場上從未失去銳度 ，外援87場58球打破隊史紀錄；雖然你偶爾失誤 ，体系但總努力彌補，国安隊史首個聯賽單場大四喜我們會永遠記住；雖然你段子無數，将席将重建但你的尔瓦能力和勤勉有目共睹 ，你的名外名字我們珍藏在心中——塞德裏克·巴坎布 ！希望你永遠不要忘記，援出這條回家的战联工體北路 。”在本賽季先後宣布送走奧古斯托 、外援費爾南多 、比埃拉 、金玟哉後 ，巴坎布同樣以提前解約的方式離開 。
民主剛果前鋒2018年冬窗加盟北京國安 ，以4000萬歐元的身價成為該賽季中超外援“標王” 。在效力國安期間，巴坎布因多次“吐餅”，被球迷們戲稱為“快樂男孩” 。平心而論 ，巴坎布擁有世界級的跑位 ，他的進球效率並不低——上賽季以14球榮膺中超最佳射手；2019賽季16次出場打入10球；2018賽季23次出場進19球 。
憑借在中超的出色表現 ，巴坎布吸引了豪門關注 。2020年初 ，巴薩向北京國安俱樂部提出報價 ，求購巴坎布 。盡管巴薩最終叫停了這次轉會，但民主剛果前鋒的能力可見一斑 。與國安解約後 ，巴坎布被認為大概率將回到西甲。
巴坎布的離開不僅意味著國安將以席爾瓦一名外援出戰下月打響的中超第二階段爭冠組比賽 ，球隊的外援體係也將正式開始重建 。在聯賽限薪 、限投的大背景下 ，俱樂部的選援標準不僅要從主教練的要求出發，同時還必須綜合考慮球員的性價比 。
