這是什麽原因呢 ？首先，個人表現依然是金球獎評選的重要評選指標 ，2020-2021賽季 ，孫興慜為熱刺在各項賽事中打進22球助攻17次 ，五大聯賽隻有10人的進球數比孫興慜多 ，助攻則隻有德布勞內比他多 。把進球和助攻數合計 ，也隻有8名球員比孫興慜更多。
