盡管在與相關部門溝通的過程當中，亞足聯非常明確地表示，说强赛都12強賽將會采取主客場的不过賽製 ，但是意义在全球疫情依然存在諸多變數的情況下 ，中國足協依然做好了參加賽會製比賽的国足準備 ，為12強賽提前做出預案 。说强赛都
事實上 ，不过對於"主場"作戰的意义好處，此次積極向亞足聯提出申辦12強賽會製比賽的国足阿聯酋和沙特了然於胸 ，尤其是说强赛都阿聯酋 ，原本在小組中排名倒數第二的不过他們 ，利用主場作戰的意义優勢 ，硬生生搶到了一張12強賽的国足入場券 ，這也是说强赛都他們如此"推崇"賽會製比賽的主要原因 。
相對來講，不过東亞的中國 、日本和韓國在疫情期間的防控較為嚴格 ，如果12強賽真的要采取賽會製方式的話 ，亞足聯也確實大概率會將比賽放在西亞舉行 ，對原本實力就不占優同時還要防備對手各種"盤外招"的中國隊來講 ，顯然不是什麽"利好" 。
雖然12強賽還有諸多無法確定的因素 ，但是對已經開啟"12強賽模式"的中國隊來講 ，眼下更關注的顯然還是自身 ，用李鐵的話說就是"打誰不是打 ，在哪兒打不是打" 。
不管是對於可能的分組還是有可能的賽會製 ，國足一位隊員在跟記者聊天時 ，都顯得十分淡定 ："去阿聯酋之前 ，外麵都覺得我們沒有主場了 ，到那邊又是高溫又是什麽的，認為我們肯定出不了線，但是按照李（鐵）指導說的 ，我們該怎麽準備就怎麽準備 ，比賽該怎麽踢就怎麽踢 ，最後也拿到了我們想要的結果 。現在也一樣 ，一說起12強賽 ，好像就覺得我們這個打不過 ，那個也肯定沒戲，前途一片暗淡 ，但是比賽還沒踢呢 ，想這些有意義嗎 ？對我們來講 ，現在要做的就是好好訓練 ，好好踢聯賽 ，到時候好好為12強賽做準備 ，全力以赴打好每一場比賽 ，其他的都不重要 。"
