中超聯賽於10月9日結束第22輪全部賽事後，將暫停兩周多時間 。按照賽事主辦方的計劃 ，比賽將於10月25日重燃戰火 。而率先進行的將是第19輪補賽 ，隨後第20輪補賽 ，第23至34輪賽事將整體順延進行 。比賽仍計劃在今年底 ，也就是本年度內完賽 。這意味著餘下14輪賽事將在今年餘下2個月多內打完。
本賽季足協杯賽也將按計劃進行。其中新一輪正賽計劃將於11月上旬進行 ，也就是在中超聯賽最後一個階段期間穿插進行。
在2003年齡段U19國足、2006年齡段U17國足相繼挺進U20亞洲杯、U17亞洲杯決賽圈後，兩隊的建製將得以完整的保留 。由於兩項賽事決賽階段賽事均計劃安排在明年上半年進行 ，因此接下來的備戰工作刻不容緩。但因中超聯賽最快也要打今年底打完，足協杯賽甚至可能跨年結束 ，因此幾支國字號球隊新一期備戰最早也要到明年年初才能進行 。
