昨天 ，保级中國足協、组倒争夺中超中足聯籌備組在上海召開會議 ，数两始排對外公布了備受關注的将中甲队本賽季中超聯賽賽製 、賽程修改方案 ，席位原計劃的月开30輪比賽 ，確定被壓縮到22輪 ，名赛第一階段剩餘的保级9輪比賽 ，將在7月18日至8月12日進行 ，组倒争夺中超平均3天一輪，数两始排幾乎是将中甲队職業聯賽前所未有的密集賽程。聯賽第二階段8輪賽事 ，席位將在12月1日到明年的月开1月3日之間進行 ，這是名赛中超聯賽首度出現跨年進行的情況 。
具體安排為 ，保级8月的第一階段14輪比賽結束 、廣州和蘇州兩個賽區的排名確定後 ，廣州賽區的前4名和蘇州賽區的前4名組成爭冠組 ，廣州賽區的5到8名與蘇州賽區的5到8名組成保級組 ，兩個組12月開始進行排名賽 。
需要特別說明的兩點是 ，第一 ，之前14輪比賽各隊的積分 ，全部帶入第二階段 ，同一賽區已經交手的球隊不再進行比賽，8輪比賽為每支球隊和同組第一階段未進行比賽的球隊進行雙循環比賽；第二，爭冠組球隊的排名下限為第8名 ，保級組球隊的排名上限為第9名 ，即使最終保級組有球隊的積分高於爭冠組球隊 ，也不再進行“總積分排名” 。另外 ，保級組球隊的最後兩名 ，要和中甲聯賽第3 、4名進行附加賽 ，爭奪2022賽季中超席位 。
