北京時間4月2日 ，2022卡塔爾世界杯小組抽簽結果已經揭曉 ，盖特个有国德英格蘭 、美国伊朗和美國分在B組 ，对手該組的小组最後一個對手將在威爾士VS蘇格蘭/烏克蘭之間決出 。在抽簽儀式結束後 ，迎英英格蘭主帥索斯蓋特也接受采訪 ，索斯赛或談到了對本組各對手的盖特个有国德看法 。
索斯蓋特表示 ，美国美國隊是对手一個有趣的對手 ，和他們的小组比賽將極具吸引力。
“我們已經很久沒有和美國 、迎英伊朗踢過比賽了，索斯赛或小組賽的盖特个有国德最後一個對手未知 ，當然也有可能是美国英國德比 ，我們對蘇格蘭很了解 。”
索斯蓋特直言 ，要想出線就要打好小組賽 ，不管對手是誰，都要確保晉級 。另外 ，由於本屆世界杯在冬天比賽，那時候並非俱樂部的休賽期 ，因此索斯蓋特表示 ，團隊私底下有和英超溝通 ，希望在世界杯開始前的最後一個英超比賽日不要安排強強對話 ，因為球隊幾乎沒有準備時間，可能會導致小組賽第一場比賽很多球員都無法上場 。
“我們在世界杯開幕日當天就有比賽 ，因此 ，當英超結束後我們的安排已經非常清楚了 ，我們需要盡快來到卡塔爾。”
