沙迦當地時間11月8日傍晚7點 ，國家男足繼續前往沙迦足球俱樂部訓練場進行賽前備戰訓練 ，斯目技術總監克裏斯此前一直是短期的工扮演著顧而不問的角色 ，不過近期他也被要求更多地參加到國足的作主最终日常訓練當中來。8日的教练决策訓練前 ，克裏斯專門接受了記者的克里采訪 。他表示自己目前的斯目工作隻是短期的任務 ，希望能夠用經驗幫助到教練員 。短期的工“主教練依舊是作主最终最終的決策者 。”
談到自己目前在國家隊所扮演的教练决策角色 ，克裏斯表示 ：“作為技術總監 ，克里我在國家隊有長期的斯目任務 ，也有短期的短期的工任務 ，我現在做的作主最终就是短期的任務 。一直以來 ，教练决策我都在幫助中國教練 ，這也是我的重要責任，我來中國就是幫助中國足球 ，幫助中國教練 ，我希望我的經驗能夠幫助教練員 ，任何時候他們需要的話 ，我都在這裏 。”
克裏斯認為，國足最需要的是建立信心 。“我一直是一個積極的人 ，球隊要積極去思考 ，鼓勵我們的隊員 ，我們要建立我們的信心 ，不要害怕任何對手 ，我們有優秀的球員，優秀的團隊 ，相信我們能夠做好。40強賽的裏皮離開了球隊 ，我們的處境艱難 ，當時大家都不相信，我們能夠晉級12強賽，現在也是一樣 ，我們不要消極的看待這個問題 ，我們要去激發大家的鬥誌和信心 。”
克裏斯表示在自己的職業生涯當中 ，一直扮演著組建團隊的角色 。“不要擔心團隊裏有能力比你更強的人 ，每個人都要發揮自己的附加價值，選擇能夠形成合力的成員 ，團隊的能力才能最大化 。對於我來說，主教練仍然是最終的決策者 ，承擔最終的責任 ，我們可能會有很多的討論 ，但決策一旦作出 ，就會堅定的走下去 。”（搜狐體育 裴力）
