在終場哨聲吹響時，林加德看起來非常沮喪 ，因為他知道自己讓球隊失去了關鍵的一分 。曼聯隊長馬奎爾很貼心的送上了安慰 ，賽後也積極為隊友辯護 。
馬奎爾說道 ：“這就是足球 。人們都會犯錯 ，我們不該太責怪傑西（林加德） 。我相信今天賽場上所有人都犯了錯誤，我相信傑西會振作起來的 。”
