美洲杯小組賽A組第2輪 ，连平阿根廷1比0擊敗烏拉圭 。后收获首何对在上輪1比1戰平智利，胜阿手2021年頭3場比賽3連平後 ，根廷終於贏得勝利的振奋阿根廷隊士氣大振。烏拉圭則在本年度的不惧3場比賽中2平1負，1球未進 ，怕任蘇亞雷斯和卡瓦尼的连平組合連續3場啞火 。阿根廷主力門將埃米利亞諾·馬丁內斯賽後表示 ，后收获首何对球隊不會懼怕任何對手 ，胜阿手而主教練斯卡洛尼則專門表揚了進球隊員吉多·羅德裏格斯 ，根廷希望他在今後的振奋比賽中起到更大作用 。
首發門將馬丁內斯在采訪中說 ：“我們來到這裏就是不惧為了贏得冠軍 ，我們不懼怕任何人 。怕任能贏下比賽是连平因為我們有世界最佳球員（梅西） ，還有一個總是擁有戰術方案應對任何問題的主教練 。”本場比賽，烏拉圭沒有一次射正 ，馬丁內斯雖然未能一展撲救能力 ，但他的防守指揮發揮了很大作用。
迪馬利亞在賽後接受采訪時則提到了他們最大的爭冠對手巴西隊 ，“巴西隊非常強，他們表現得不錯 ，而且還擁有主場優勢 。不過 ，阿根廷永遠是冠軍的候選人 。我們本場比賽戰勝了一支為冠軍而戰的球隊 ，將會沿著這條路繼續走下去 。”
傷愈複出的克裏斯蒂安·羅梅羅表示 ：“拿到勝利非常重要 ，我們做到了這一點 。國家隊是個出色的團隊 ，我感謝教練組給我機會加入這個群體 ，接下來能走多遠取決於我們自己。我們要一場場地來 。”
主帥斯卡洛尼對全隊都提出了表揚，他表示 ：“我一直強調 ，全隊所有人都會打比賽 ，現在這支隊伍的首發表現很好 ，這讓我很開心 。為什麽做出四個換人 ？其實很正常，之前的比賽我們同樣配得上獲勝 。今天球隊更努力，對手沒有進球 ，總的來說非常穩健 。”斯卡洛尼還特別提到了進球功臣吉多·羅德裏格斯 ，“吉多一直在我們之中 ，他的態度很積極 ，我們很欣賞他在比賽中的存在感。今天他抓住機會打進一球 ，表現非常好 。”
而送出助攻的梅西 ，則得到了阿根廷媒體的一致讚譽 。《奧萊報》以“偉大的梅西”作為標題 ，詳細記述了梅西本場比賽的全部鏡頭 。連續2場被評為全場最佳的梅西，賽後也更新了社交媒體 ：“加油贏下去 ！今天的比賽對我們至關重要 。贏球可以讓我們平靜麵對之後的比賽 ，做好接下來應對困難的準備 。”
