另外在防守的布置中 ，皮爾洛也有失誤 。在奧利維拉主罰任意球時 ，皮爾洛並沒有安排球員倒地防止對手的貼地球 ，而就是這次防守安排的失誤導致了丟球 。
但是皮爾洛卻並不這樣認為 ，在賽後接受采訪時卻甩鍋給C羅的躲閃 ：“排出人牆的球員是我們自己選擇的 ，轉身躲球這種情況是以前從未發生過的，也許他們覺得任意球的位置離球門太遠 ，所以沒有察覺到危險。這確實是一個錯誤 ，通常不會發生這種事情。”
球隊淘汰後，皮爾洛沒有將原因歸咎於自己 ，反而甩鍋球員 ，甚至將矛盾指向了“球隊一哥”C羅 ，皮爾洛的情商有待提高 。目前尤文在歐冠再次失敗 ，而在意甲也難以衛冕，皮爾洛的下課或許會進入倒計時 。
