據巴西媒體報道，辟谣前廣州恒大隊主教練斯科拉裏 ，战术在本周已經與格雷米奧俱樂部終止合約，过时国足在即將迎來自己73歲生日前一個月宣布退休 。选择這一消息也算是退休“辟謠”了此前關於斯科拉裏將在下周抵達中國接替李鐵帶領國足出征餘下12強賽的傳聞 。
文章寫道 ：在上周日0-1小負桑托斯隊後 ，巴媒格雷米奧俱樂部便結束了與斯科拉裏之間的斯科合作關係 ，由於球隊戰績不佳 ，拉里目前在國內聯賽中僅排名倒數第二 ，接手斯科拉裏的辟谣離開也在情理之中 ，也意味著他在格雷米奧的战术第四次執教以失敗告終 。
巴西媒體R7的过时国足裏莫利還指出 ：對於即將年滿73歲的斯科拉裏來說 ，退休是选择最合適的選擇 。他把格雷米奧看作是退休自己“真正的家” ，但在第四次執教期間率隊的巴媒21場比賽卻是令人失望的，他的戰術已經過時了 ，他應該及時停下來了，他率領的球隊無論是前衛線還是前鋒線 ，都沒有創造力 。在1993年到1996年格雷米奧使用的那套東西，被證明是完全過時的。
出於對斯科拉裏的尊重，格雷米奧俱樂部董事會宣布離職是雙方達成“共識” ，但實際上就是俱樂部向他關上了大門 。在離開這家俱樂部之前 ，斯科拉裏盡管非常失望，但還是說出了“無論如何，我都是格雷米奧的其中一份子 ，一直如此。”
