北京時間3月4日，切费歐足聯足協切費林接受美國媒體《金融時報》采訪時談到了當前最熱的林年幾個話題 ，稱此前引起歐足聯和南美足聯不滿的届世界杯计划兩年一屆世界杯計劃已經夭折 ，同時警告一些球隊 ，夭折若參加歐超聯賽就會被逐出歐戰 。踢欧
過去一段時間 ，超逐出欧國際足聯提出了兩年一屆世界杯計劃 ，切费前阿森納主帥溫格作為FIFA的林年官員甚至四處“推銷”這項計劃 ，這令歐足聯和南美足聯嚴重不滿 ，届世界杯计划兩大機構甚至有意聯手參加一項賽事 ，夭折以抵製國際足聯。踢欧最新消息顯示 ，超逐出欧這一計劃已經夭折 。切费歐足聯主席切費林說 ，林年“很顯然，届世界杯计划這是沒有意義的 ，國際足聯已經意識到這一點了 。昨天我跟國際足聯主席因凡蒂諾討論了這件事兒 ，我們不能說其他大洲的足球不能發展 ，但我們應該保持協調一致 ，這不該損害歐足聯和南美足聯的利益 。”
與此同時 ，歐超聯賽2.0版上線 ，尤文圖斯老板阿涅利已經決定通過法律來與歐足聯分庭抗禮 。歐足聯主席切費林表示 ，參加歐超聯賽的球隊 ，都將被逐出歐戰 ，“疫情期間 ，他們提出了歐超，而今戰爭之下，他們又展開歐超，我想他們一定活在平行世界吧 。如果他們要參加歐超 ，那麽就不能參加歐戰 。”
此外 ，歐足聯主席還談到了俄羅斯男女足被禁賽 ，“我不知道俄羅斯何時才能夠回歸參加比賽 ，我無法回答他們什麽時候能夠回來，現在的情況就是這樣 。此前公告裏已經宣布，所有俄羅斯球隊都將無法參加歐戰 ，所以俄羅斯女足也會被排除 ，他們不會參加歐洲杯 ，我們將通過抽簽來決定哪支球隊晉級。”
最後 ，歐足聯主席切費林呼籲俄烏戰爭盡快停止，“沒想到歐洲還會發生戰爭 ，這比足球更重要 ，我們希望貢獻一份力，讓戰爭盡快停止 。”
