就目前的情況來看 ，由於利物浦已經贏得了聯賽杯冠軍 ，並且將與切爾西爭奪足總杯冠軍 ，因此聯賽排名第六和第七位的球隊 ，將有資格獲得歐聯和歐會的參賽名額。但如果曼聯最終排名第八 ，那麽他們下賽季將沒有歐戰可踢 ，但那反倒是能給滕哈格更多的重建時間 。
