“歐超聯賽並沒有完蛋 ，西媒在我看來 ，国米歐洲足球急需改革。曝欧叛变”阿涅利說道 ，超强“歐足聯也清楚 ，仅队决定我在以尤文主席的真正身份運作一些不一樣的東西 。”
在歐超創始12隊中 ，退出9隊很快宣布退出歐超，西媒隻有皇馬 、国米巴薩 、曝欧叛变尤文明確表態拒絕退出歐超 。阿涅利就此表態 ：“歐超是12家球隊的集體成果 ，而不屬於個人。12家球隊簽署了一項120頁的合同 ，這份合同對其中的11支球隊仍然有效力 。”
“妥協不再是我們的選項 ，我們需要更深層的變革 。在我看來 ，一家獨大的運作方式 ，並不適合足球產業 。”阿涅利把矛頭對準歐足聯 ，“我們認為 ，現有領導機構與當今足球所需要的職能並不匹配 。我並不是考慮如何替代歐足聯 ，而是考慮要如何運營好足球產業。未來5年尤文是否還會參加歐冠？我認為尤文會踢主流歐洲賽事 。歐足聯是否應該被解散 ？我願意參與談判，我會支持一個透明公開的組織 。我會等待歐盟法院來告訴我們，現在的體係能否滿足應有職能 。”
按照阿涅利的說法 ，歐超12隊中其實隻有1隊真正退出 ，這家球隊究竟是哪個豪門 ？西班牙Cope電台爆料稱 ，真正退出歐超的是國米。Cope電台指出 ，在國米與歐超簽署的合同中有一個附加條款。隻要有讚助商不支持國米加入歐超 ，那國米就無法加入歐超。國米的退出也即意味著，並非所有國米讚助商都同意國米出現在歐超聯賽中 。
