自從國際足聯有意將世界杯從4年一屆改為2年一屆之後 ，南美年加歐足聯和南美足聯就很快宣布不支持這一計劃 。国家国联改制如今 ，入欧歐足聯甚至委托谘詢公司進行調研 ，为对評估兩年一屆世界杯會帶來哪些負麵影響 。抗世與此同時 ，界杯南美國家隊則打算在2024年加入歐國聯 ，南美年加這一計劃顯然是国家国联改制為了對抗世界杯改製 。
當地時間本周四，入欧歐國聯進行了22/23賽季的为对分組抽簽。ESPN報道稱 ，抗世南美10國打算在2024年加入歐國聯 ，界杯而且願意讓所有比賽都在歐洲進行 。南美年加巴西 、国家国联改制阿根廷 、入欧哥倫比亞、烏拉圭 、秘魯和智利，將會加入歐國聯A級聯賽。而巴拉圭 、委內瑞拉 、厄瓜多爾和玻利維亞 ，則會加入歐國聯B級聯賽 。在這一賽製下，歐國聯A級和B級聯賽球隊將分別達到22隊和20隊 。
南美10國加入歐國聯？歐國聯甚至可以被視為小型世界杯了 。南美和歐洲本就是整體足球水平最高的兩個大洲 ，考慮到歐國聯不會出現來自亞洲 、大洋洲 、非洲和中北美洲的“魚腩” ，歐國聯的含金量甚至比世界杯更高 。而在南美球隊加入歐國聯之後 ，在賽程上也必然與世界杯衝突 。畢竟如果世界杯改為兩年一屆的話 ，國際比賽日基本都要拿來踢世預賽了 。通過這一做法，南美足聯明確表達要和歐足聯合作 ，並集體對抗國際足聯世界杯改製的決心 。
