《米蘭體育報》指出 ，皇馬和尤文很有可能被逐出下賽季歐冠 ，以作為對他們帶頭造反的懲罰 。此外皇馬還有可能被逐出本賽季歐冠 ，皇馬本應該下周半決賽中首戰切爾西。不過Cope電台稱皇馬不會在本賽季中被踢出歐冠，切費林昨天也曾表態本賽季驅逐皇馬可能性不大 ，因為歐足聯將會麵對轉播商的巨額索賠 。
迄今為止 ，隻有皇馬巴薩沒有退出歐超 ，為何巴薩不是歐足聯的重點打擊對象 ？切費林昨天就指出 ，他非常能夠理解巴薩新主席拉波爾塔。在拉波爾塔上任後 ，巴薩經濟上是個爛攤子 ，加入歐超是拉波爾塔自救的無奈選擇 。而且巴薩如今也已經公開表態稱，將在會員大會上決定是否退出歐超 。巴薩是會員製俱樂部 ，會員大會是俱樂部做出決策的最高權力機構 ，拉波爾塔並沒有權力表態要退出或者留在歐超。
