《馬卡報》稱 ，皇馬為了引進姆巴佩 ，願意破例為其讓出超過50%的球員肖像權 ，但這其中不包括球衣銷售的收入 。消息稱 ，從2003年的貝克漢姆開始 ，皇馬與球員就肖像權利益基本都是五五分，隻有C羅打破了慣例 ，他爭取到了60%的個人肖像權 。如今 ，姆巴佩很可能再次打破慣例 ，成為第二名球員肖像權超過50%的球員 。由於姆巴佩很可能是自由加盟 ，皇馬考慮到沒有為其支付轉會費 ，因此願意向姆巴佩讓出超過50%的肖像權 。
姆巴佩在巴黎聖日耳曼的年薪達到了2100萬歐元 ，法國人希望在加盟皇馬之後年薪有所上漲 ，達到2500萬歐元 。皇馬方麵則考慮以讓出更多肖像權的方式 ，滿足姆巴佩方麵對年薪的要求 。據悉 ，姆巴佩的母親要求得到球衣銷售收入的一部分，但遭到皇馬方麵的拒絕，因為姆巴佩在2021年度的球衣銷量榜中排名第五位 ，僅次於梅西 、C羅 、萊萬和薩拉赫。如果加盟皇馬 ，那麽姆巴佩的球衣銷量隻會增加 ，這也是皇馬願意在肖像權讓步，卻不答應對球衣銷售進行分成的原因 。
