據來自沙特方麵的沙特沙迦消息 ，沙特國家隊定於本月19日展開集中 ，调整備戰3月24日與中國隊的国足比賽。不過 ，强赛如今沙特隊已經對備戰計劃進行了調整 ，备战不是计划在賽前才從吉達飛赴沙迦，而是先赴改到阿布紮比進行備戰 。
按最初的阿布計劃 ，沙特國內的扎比再奔職業聯賽在3月17至18日進行第25輪角逐 ，其中擁有國腳的沙特沙迦球隊的比賽在3月18日晚上全部結束 ，然後從19日開始，调整球隊將集中吉達 ，国足展開備戰。强赛至賽前一天，备战球隊將從吉達飛往沙迦。计划但據稱 ，目前沙特隊改變了備戰計劃，球隊的集中時間還是定在3月19日 ，但在集中之後 ，球隊並不是留在沙特繼續展開備戰，而是將直接奔赴阿聯酋 。
沙特足協國家隊管理委員會先前已經派人前往阿聯酋的迪拜以及阿布紮比進行過考察 ，在對兩個地方的設施等進行了全麵考察與比較之後 ，決定將訓練地點改在阿布紮比 ，即球隊在19日集中後進行一堂訓練課，然後在20日一大早就啟程直接飛往阿布紮比 ，然後在20日 、21日 、22日連續三天安排在阿布紮比進行訓練 ，直至23日才從阿布紮比趕往沙迦 ，參加賽前新聞發布會以及適應場地訓練 。在3月24日 ，再直接與中國隊進行比賽。
在打完與中國隊的比賽之後，球隊將從球場直接前往機場，連夜返回吉達 ，準備3月29日主場與澳大利亞隊的比賽 。目前 ，沙特隊以積19分排名小組第一位 ，隻要從中國隊或澳大利亞隊身上再拿到3分，就可以鎖定小組前兩名、直接進軍卡塔爾世界杯賽 。
本周末 ，沙特國內聯賽將進行第22輪比賽 。在本輪賽事結束之後 ，主教練雷納德將會公布最新一期沙特隊集訓名單 。
