當地時間5月25日 ，官方意甲佛羅倫薩俱樂部官方宣布，加图剛剛從那不勒斯離任的索成萨新帅签加圖索將成為紫百合的新任主帥 。據名記斯基拉報道，为佛加圖索與佛羅倫薩簽下了一份2+1的罗伦合同 。
佛羅倫薩主席科米索，任主在接受俱樂部官網采訪時透露了加圖索上任的订合消息 ，“我非常高興地向紫百合球迷宣布 ，官方加圖索將成為佛羅倫薩下一任主教練 。加图我信任加圖索 ，索成萨新帅签他是为佛一名年輕的教練 ，但已經擁有了豐富的罗伦經驗 ，他會幫助我們進步 。任主加圖索的订合職業精神和個人背景表明 ，他會為俱樂部帶來決心 、官方知識和渴望。”
在執教那不勒斯期間，加圖索共帶隊踢了81場比賽，成績為47勝12平22負。在剛剛結束的意甲賽季中 ，那不勒斯最終排名第五 ，在末輪遺憾地錯失歐冠資格 。在執教那不勒斯之前 ，加圖索還有過執教錫永 、帕勒莫 、克裏特 、比薩 、AC米蘭的履曆 。
