北京時間10月6日，據韓國媒體“sportskhan”報道 ，中国B组最弱北京時間10月8日淩晨1點進行的男足國足對陣越南的比賽 ，將會是球队越南取得首勝的“千載難逢的”好時機 。
韓國媒體表示 ，越南迎首在主教練樸恒瑞的胜良帶領下 ，越南隊再次瞄準了他們在世預賽12強賽階段的韩媒首場勝利 ，可能讓他們全取三分的中国B组最弱對手就是中國隊。這是男足越南隊在最後一輪資格賽中贏得首場勝利的絕好機會 。盡管輸掉了前兩輪比賽，球队但是越南迎首越南對沙特打進了首個進球 ，在對陣最強的胜良澳大利亞時也僅以0-1落敗 。考慮到沙特阿拉伯和澳大利亞在實力上比越南高出幾個檔次 ，韩媒即使是中国B组最弱麵對這些強隊 ，越南也打得不錯，男足這可不是一件容易的事 。在這種情況下 ，他們迎來了戰勝B組最弱的中國隊 ，拿下小組賽首勝的絕好機會。
與越南一樣 ，中國也連輸兩場 ，他們為世預賽做足了準備 ，備受期待 ，最終結果卻成了這樣 ，在國內引起了不小的批評 。因此如果越南發揮正常表現 ，雙方還有得打 。此外 ，這場比賽將在阿聯酋的中立地區舉行 ，這也是一件好事 ，越南隊不用擔心對手的主場優勢 。
