巴薩一直希望簽下凱西補強中場，從今年2月底談判加快了速度。迪馬濟奧透露 ，凱西近日已經到瑞士盧加諾接受了巴薩俱樂部安排的體檢 ，並和巴薩簽約 。凱西得到了一份四年合同 ，年薪700萬歐元 。最近幾個月以來的傳聞得到了證實 ，現在球員的轉會手續已經辦完了 ，凱西下賽季將在巴薩踢球 ，告別自己效力五年的米蘭。
而《米蘭體育報》報道，米蘭此前給凱西開出的續約薪水並不比巴薩低很多 ，但米蘭俱樂部拒絕向凱西的經紀人支付1000萬歐元的傭金 ，這導致凱西的續約談判破裂 ，最終凱西決定加盟巴薩 。此外 ，巴薩主帥哈維也力邀凱西加盟，凱西為此很興奮 ，甚至拒絕了另外兩份來自英超的更高報價 。
