Save $20: As of December 14, the Amazon Smart Thermostat is on sale for $59.99 at Amazon, which is 25% off its regular price of $79.99.
Opens in a new windowCredit: Amazon Amazon Smart ThermostatEver since Amazon debuted the Smart Thermostat in 2021, this smart home device has been making homes more energy efficient with the press of a button (or with the phrase, "Hey Alexa!"). The Amazon thermostat is traditionally compared to Google's Nest Thermostat, which is currently retailing for $30 more. That being said, if you've already welcomed Alexa into your home and want to optimize your HVAC energy use, the Amazon Smart Thermostat is gonna come in clutch (especially while it's on sale).
As of December 14, you can grab an Amazon Smart Thermostat for just $59.99 instead of its usual $79.99 — a 25% savings just in time for the holidays. Sure, this isn't the craziest deal we've seen on the item (it's been known to drop to its all-time low price of $41.99 during major shopping events like Prime Day). Yet, considering the fact that the Smart Thermostat is often prone to hovering at the yucky price of $79.99, its present-day price is still a steal.
What's a smart thermostat from Amazon even good for? Glad you asked. First of all, besides that sweet $20 savings you're getting right off the bat, this device can save you an average of $50 on annual energy bills (according to the EPA). Additionally, based on your energy provider, using this device could make you eligible for rebates. Perhaps the best thing about the Amazon Smart Thermostat is that it's powered by Alexa — meaning you can toggle with the temps in your home via the Alexa app or allow her to automatically adjust them based on "Hunches" she has about what you might be doing at any given moment. Simply saying "Alexa, bump the temperature to 70 degrees" will prove just how smartthis smart home gadget really is. If you don't vibe with hands-free control of the thermostat, it also has three touch buttons on its actual body. The possibilities are endless.
