北京時間8月16日 ，官方歐洲俱樂部協會（ECA）發布公告稱 ，除皇AC米蘭、萨文國際米蘭 、欧超阿森納、俱乐切爾西 、部重曼聯 、新加曼城 、官方利物浦、除皇熱刺和馬德裏競技9家歐超創始俱樂部重新加入歐洲俱樂部協會。萨文
以上9家俱樂部與皇馬 、欧超巴薩和尤文圖斯在今年4月聯合創立了歐洲超級聯賽 ，俱乐隨後這9家俱樂部相繼退出ECA ，部重各俱樂部高層也辭去在ECA的新加職務 。然而 ，官方由於種種原因 ，這9家俱樂部隨後宣布退出歐洲超級聯賽 。
歐洲俱樂部協會公告稱 ，這9家俱樂部提出撤回此前退出ECA的請求 ，執行董事會同意他們在當前的周期內保留各自的會員資格 。
據報道稱 ，在歐洲俱樂部協會發布公告前 ，這9家俱樂部已經簽署了具有法律約束力的承諾書 ，目前是要增加這9家俱樂部加入另一個組織的難度 。
