此前 ，范佩福好廣州城官方宣布範加斯特出任球隊主帥職務。西问昔日同在費耶諾德效力的候广範佩西也為老隊長送上祝福 。
“你好，州城我是队祝範佩西 。恭喜你上任廣州城的友范主教練 ，同時也祝賀廣州城迎來了一個非常棒的特迎教練 。我相信範加斯特會做得很好 ，出色希望你享受這份工作 ，赛季因為你熱愛足球 。范佩福好我與你共識許久 ，西问我了解你的候广執教風格 ，我相信你一定會在那裏做得很好 ，州城也希望你能有一個出色的队祝賽季 。加油 ，友范我看好你 。”
範加斯特在球員時代司職中衛和後腰 ，在效力費耶諾德期間曾擔任球隊隊長 ，並隨隊獲得荷甲冠軍 、荷蘭超級杯冠軍 。他曾為荷蘭國家隊出戰5場，攻入2球 。
退役後的範加斯特在荷蘭費耶諾德U19隊開始了自己的教練生涯 ，2011年起擔任荷甲費耶諾德隊助理教練 。2020年初，範加斯特隨老搭檔範布隆克霍斯特加盟廣州城俱樂部 。“上賽季廣州城足球俱樂部在技戰術體係的構建和精神麵貌的革新方麵初顯成效 ，範加斯特先生功不可沒 。”廣州城俱樂部表示 。
