在北京時間11月4日淩晨進行的欧文歐冠小組賽曼城4-1大勝布魯日的比賽中 ，首發出場的格拉格拉利什再次因為表現不佳而被提前換下 。對於這位曼城在今夏花費重金簽下的不适“標王” ，歐文和費迪南德兩位英格蘭足壇名宿在BT體育歐冠節目中分別表達了各自的合曼好觀點 。歐文認為 ，城费格拉利什不適合曼城；而費迪南德認為 ，迪南德格拉利什的欧文表現會越來越好 。
英格蘭傳奇前鋒歐文表示 ，格拉自己雖然是不适格拉利什的粉絲 ，但是合曼好他並不適合曼城 ：“我是格拉利什的超級粉絲 ，我非常非常欣賞他 。城费他能夠在對手的迪南德施壓下接球，是欧文一位非常勇敢去球員 。他將來會取得非常大的格拉成功 ，因為他是不适一位非常好的球員 ，而且身處一個非常好的球隊之中 。不過 ，他在曼城能夠像在維拉一樣表現出色嗎 ？我覺得可能不會 。當然 ，我隻是認為他不適合曼城 。在維拉效力時 ，格拉利什習慣從縱深處接球 ，他非常強壯 ，而且自信 。他會跑四五十碼的距離 ，並在對手的犯規下獲得任意球機會 。要知道 ，他是英超中贏得犯規最多的球員。但是 ，我不認為曼城想要他製造任意球 ，因為當曼城拿到任意球機會的時候 ，也隻是控住球 ，重新組織進攻 。曼城真正想要的是快速的節奏和大量的轉移球，其實並不希望得到任意球 ，然後主罰間接任意球 ，把球踢進禁區 ，有球員爭頂，這不是他們的比賽風格。”
對此 ，曼聯傳奇後衛費迪南德表示 ，盡管他同意老夥計的部分觀點 ，但格拉利什的表現會越來越好 ：“我在一定程度上同意你所說的 ，他的確現在不太適合曼城。不過，我相信 ，隨著時間的推移 ，他與隊友的之間的默契程度會越來越高 ，他將會是一名完美的曼城球員 。格拉利什能夠與別人配合 ，一旦他做到這一點 ，其他球員就會得到解放 ，也會理解他，這將是非常棒的事情 ，隻是現在他在曼城的時間還不夠長而已，他還不習慣球隊目前對他的定位 。”
