南都訊 記者陶新蕾北京時間3月11日下午亞足聯宣布 ，泰山原定於4月21日至5月7日舉行的准备阵容東亞區賽事將延期至6-7月 ，F組&G組&J組在泰國舉行 。两套這也意味著 ，均衡廣州隊的欲搏亚冠遗憾比賽在泰國舉行 。
亞冠官方公布的消资最新分組，至少從這份名單上江蘇隊沒有“棄權”或解散 。泰山
亞足聯公告中還顯示 ，准备阵容中超第四名獲得參加新賽季亞冠附加賽的两套資格 ，如果獲勝進入F組，均衡比賽場地也在泰國 。欲搏亚冠遗憾但北京國安所在的消资小組未定 。H組及I組的泰山比賽地點和東亞區比賽日期待進一步通知。
1月25日亞足聯發布了2021年亞冠聯賽的准备阵容賽程 ，1月27日下午舉行了分組抽簽儀式 。两套但2月8日傍晚 ，亞足聯宣布取消山東隊的參賽資格 。於是山東隊原在的亞冠J組第一檔席位已被重新分配給了廣州隊 ，而廣州隊原在的I組第二檔席位被重新分配給北京國安 ，而上海海港（上海上港）則替補獲得了附加賽資格。
江蘇足球俱樂部在2月28日宣布停止運營 ，一旦俱樂部宣布解散 ，在亞冠賽場上將被視為棄權 ，而不再有其他中超球隊替補 。
此前 ，亞冠東亞區賽事原定於4月21日至5月7日舉行 ，與新賽季中超賽程衝突 ，最初的Big4都傾向戰略性放棄亞冠 。記者獲悉，當時隻有山東隊想在亞冠賽場搏一搏，球隊準備了兩套較均衡的陣容應戰新賽季，進攻主力放置在參加亞冠的陣容中 ，後防主力配置在參加聯賽的陣容裏。但最想打亞冠的山東隊被取消了資格 ，而如今江蘇隊又無限接近解散 。
盡管現在亞冠小組賽延期至6-7月，但依舊或與中超賽事第一階段賽程有衝突 。目前確定參賽的三隊一旦都選擇二線應戰 、導致最終成績不佳，下賽季中超能否保住3+1的亞冠參賽名額 ，將被打上問號 。
