北京時間8月28日淩晨，国足中國男足完成抵達卡塔爾後的多哈大利首堂訓練課 ，武磊正常參加 。首训對於12強賽和首個對手澳大利亞，齐武前对武磊坦言要調整好心態 ，忆年亚放下心理包袱，阵澳有信心去和對手抗衡 。国足
國足全隊26日抵達卡塔爾 ，多哈大利武磊是首训當地時間深夜抵達 ，經過24小時的齐武前对等待後 ，國足全隊的忆年亚核酸結果合格 ，他們在當地時間27日晚上進行首次訓練 。阵澳國足和澳大利亞的国足首場比賽安排在當地時間九點進行 ，國足的多哈大利首堂訓練課在晚上八點左右開始，這也是首训為了提前適應比賽時間 。
從訓練陣容看 ，國足的32名球員全部到齊 ，武磊的回歸對國足非常關鍵 ，他也正常參加了第一堂訓練課 。
此外 ，李鐵的助教 ，體能教練蘭姆也已經歸隊 ，安排隊員們的訓練 。從27日開始到9月2日 ，國足有5次全隊合練的機會 ，李鐵要根據球員的狀態確定23人名單，進一步確定主力陣容 。武磊是12強賽中國隊箭頭人物 。
武磊在接受采訪時談到12強賽還是比較淡定 ，他直言 ：“我覺得關鍵看我們自己 ，外界關注比較多，大家要把心態調整好 ，進入12強賽要放下心理包袱 ，這應該是好事，前麵兩場球不管開局順不順，最重要是每個人都調整好心態 。”
的確，12強賽每場都很關鍵 ，但每場的心態也很重要 ，不要有想贏怕輸的包袱 ，全力去拚對手 ，這樣才能有理想結果。
按照賽程安排 ，北京時間9月3日淩晨2點 ，國足對陣澳大利亞 。2015年亞洲杯 ，國足曾和澳大利亞有過交手 ，對比6年前 ，兩隊的陣容都發生了很大變化 。
武磊曾出戰亞洲杯的比賽 ，對於世預賽再次對陣澳大利亞，他也直言要有信心 ：“這幾天可能看對手的錄像 ，他們也對比15年有新老交替的過程 ，教練組給我們灌輸的是有信心和他們抗衡 ，我們球員都非常有信心 。”
