本周尤文主席阿涅利表示“歐超聯賽並沒有完蛋” ，阿涅利還稱 ，重启當初準備創建歐超聯賽的英超意参12家俱樂部中有11家仍受到所簽署合同的約束 。不過英媒表示 ，赛英丝毫英超六大豪門都無意再參加歐超，不担英超CEO也表示不擔心所謂的欧超歐超2.0計劃 。
在去年4月12家歐洲豪門宣布將創建歐超聯賽 ，重启其中包括英超BIG6 ：曼聯 、英超意参曼城 、赛英丝毫利物浦 、不担切爾西 、欧超阿森納 、重启熱刺。英超意参但在歐足聯和各界的赛英丝毫強烈反對下 ，有9家俱樂部宣布退出，不担目前隻剩尤文 、皇馬 、巴薩還在堅持 。本周四尤文主席阿涅利在倫敦參加《金融時報》的足球商業峰會時表態 ，會堅持推出歐超2.0計劃 ，對歐超聯賽進行一些必要的改變 ，比如加入升降級製度等。
而《電訊報》則透露，盡管尤文 、皇馬 、巴薩三大豪門還在堅持 ，但英超BIG6俱樂部都不願再參與歐超聯賽計劃 。在去年歐超計劃公布時，引發了英超球迷們的強烈抗議，甚至有曼聯球迷闖入老特拉福德球場導致比賽延期，曼聯俱樂部因此受到英超官方的處罰 。
英超聯賽CEO理查德-馬斯特斯也認為 ，所謂的歐超2.0計劃不會取得成功 。“我並不擔心 。上一次歐超計劃隻持續了48個小時 ，這是一個沒有經過深思熟慮的計劃 ，現在它依然如此 。它會被自己打敗 。”
目前歐足聯還在和尤文皇馬巴薩三家俱樂部進行法律訴訟，這三家俱樂部希望依據歐盟法律宣布歐足聯規則的第49條和第51條為非法 ，這些條款負於歐足聯在歐洲組織跨足協的俱樂部賽事的“唯一管轄權” ，並禁止圍巾歐足聯許可的俱樂部之間的“組合或聯盟”。
至今為止關於歐超的法律訴訟已經花費了超過1000萬歐元 ，而且還可能更高 。歐冠將從2024年改革賽程 ，但這三家俱樂部表示 ，到時候歐冠聯賽每個賽季會增加100場比賽 ，可是質量卻沒有提升 。大俱樂部更希望舉行一項規模較小的賽事 ，讓最好的球隊之間定期進行更有吸引力的比賽 。
