曼聯俱樂部此前確認他將在2021年結束後離開現在的倍市工作崗位 ，但事實上他的奖杯任期結束於當地時間2022年1月31日 ，從午夜鍾聲敲響的时光那一刻起 ，理查德-阿諾德將接手他的终结值座崗位 。
伍德沃德現年50歲 ，德离早在2005年就加入了老特拉福德的曼联董事會團隊 ，此前他在格雷澤家族收購曼聯的留下過程中扮演了關鍵角色 。2013年 ，倍市大衛-吉爾卸任CEO的奖杯時候 ，他成為了曼聯的时光執行副主席 。
在這頗為漫長的紅魔時光裏 ，伍德沃德使得曼聯的市場價值足足翻了3倍 。2005年的時候，曼聯的市場價值約為8億英鎊 ，而最新的統計數據表明 ，現在他們的這一數據高達24億英鎊 。
除此之外 ，在2013年，零售 、商品以及商業許可等行為共計為曼聯帶來了1.3億鎊的收入 ，到了2020年 ，也就是疫情前的最後一個商業年度 ，這個數字則達到了2.79億鎊 。去年 ，盡管受製於疫情實施了空場等行為 ，但這個數字依然高達2.32億鎊 。
與商業上的成功相反襯的 ，是曼聯這些年來在競技成績上的尷尬 ，在這段漫長的時光裏 ，他們共計隻獲得了3座獎杯 。
這主要是因為伍德沃德生不逢時 ，他恰好趕上了弗格森爵士退休 。在那之後 ，莫耶斯的任期失敗了；範加爾則是帶隊贏得了足總杯，但僅僅執教兩個賽季他就被解雇了；穆裏尼奧贏得了2017年的聯賽杯和歐聯杯；最後 ，是索爾斯克亞治下貧瘠的三年歲月 。
在這段時光裏，也有過很多頗為糟糕的轉會決定，比如費萊尼 、迪馬利亞 、德佩、弗雷德和馬奎爾以及很多其他人 ，沒人能夠證明曼聯為他們所支付的高額費用是合理的 。
