此片講述,瘋癲和尚與佛祖如意乾坤袋化身空空兒在遭遇了黑暗導師與人間疾苦後的一番百世磨練。該作品為濟公IP的疯癫疯癫係列電影之一,導演張津濤用全新的故事再次詮釋了度化眾生,舍己為人的濟公精神。雪村以東北人特有的文化重新演繹了濟公這個角色,在妙語生津的笑料包袱之外還給這個角色加上了一層額外的禪意
。此外,空空兒與小烏鴉是青少年演員趙嘉豪、何思甜扮演的,兩人在影片中對手戲頗多,但他們沒有因為年齡小演出經曆少而怯場,反而生動活潑的表現出了這兩個角色純真無邪的一麵,讓人拍手叫好。
影片的宗旨以喚醒每人心中的善念,找尋自我正確的道路為主題 。以空空兒在人間磨練的種種業果為根本,導演張津濤用自己的理解向觀眾講述了一個自我尋找與自我奉獻的故事 。
