2021賽季中超聯賽第2階段賽事保級組 、李霄练团爭冠組賽事分別於12月12日 、鹏搭13日開踢 。建国均作為新一任中國男足主帥 ，足教助教李霄鵬赴中超賽區考察國腳的队原队工作也由此拉開序幕 。在此期間，外籍望留李霄鵬還將落實國足新教練班子的李霄练团搭建工作 。北青-北京頭條記者獲悉 ，鹏搭李鐵執教時期的建国均幾名外籍助手均有望留任 。至於李霄鵬心儀的足教助教外籍助教首選佩普目前仍在巴塞羅那 ，能否到隊尚難確認 。队原队
李霄鵬在國腳的外籍望留選擇方麵雖然不必做過多調整 ，但由於以李鐵為首的李霄练团原國足教練團隊中的中方成員均已不再留隊 ，新教練班子的鹏搭搭建對李霄鵬而言顯然更具緊迫性。
據北青-北京頭條記者了解 ，建国均國足原工作團隊的外籍成員有望留在隊中繼續輔佐李霄鵬 。如12強賽第4輪後正式參與國足教練團隊工作的中國足協比利時籍總監克瑞斯及其同胞助手羅伊將大概率繼續跟隊 ，原國足英國籍體能教練阿德裏安·蘭姆與克瑞斯一樣 ，於11月18日隨國足代表團返回中國 ，他對在中國隊的工作非常看重 。12強賽期間重返國足的意大利籍理療師科蒂不出意外地話也將繼續為中國隊服務 。近日，他已經與老東家廣州足球俱樂部道別 。以上幾人不出意外 ，都將隨國足參加於明年1月10日左右開始的新一期集訓 ，並參加與日本 、越南隊的12強賽第7 、第8輪客場比賽 。
至於其他助教人選 ，李霄鵬最心儀的當屬西班牙籍教頭佩普。事實上 ，早在今年年初 ，李霄鵬就希望邀請佩普來華協助他執教武漢隊 。然而受疫情影響及身體狀況影響，佩普當時未能成行。據悉 ，佩普目前身體狀況良好 ，中國足協也已與身在巴塞羅那的他取得了聯係 。至於他能否與李霄鵬再度“聯袂” ，則有待各方進一步協商而定 。相比於體能教練 、康複師 ，助教在技術層麵更為重要。不過佩普即便接受李霄鵬的邀請，入境後也需要嚴格執行各項防疫及隔離規定 ，能否趕上與日本隊和越南隊的比賽還不好說。
截止到目前 ，李霄鵬還沒有確定任何1名本土助手人選 。而從各渠道反映出的信息來看 ，李霄鵬很可能會從昔日俱樂部或國家隊隊友、合作過的助手中選人進入國足教練組 。
