重回國足陣營 ，强赛武磊依舊感到十分親切 ，放下27日淩晨2點多抵達酒店後 ，包袱中國足協主席陳戌源現身迎接 ，抗衡這一幕令武磊坦言"沒想到" 。利亚這次回來 ，武磊武磊將錯過西班牙人隊的强赛幾場比賽 ，競技層麵的放下損失多少都會有 ，但為國出戰始終是第一位的 ：" 提前與國家隊會合是國家隊與西班牙人俱樂部溝通的結果 ，提前兩天回來有利於調整和備戰 ，12強賽無論開局順利還是不順利 ，我們都要調整好心態。"
經曆了40強賽的比賽後 ，武磊表示全隊在適應天氣條件等環境方麵 ，已經積累了一定經驗 ，相反澳大利亞隊可能有所欠缺 。
在武磊看來，國足挺進12強賽後 ，雖然遭遇的對手更強 、比賽的困難程度更大，但歸根結底球隊還是需要擺正心態，繼續拿出40強賽時展現出的執行力 ，延續良好的團隊氛圍 ："12強賽的比賽 ，我們更應該放鬆 ，放下包袱 。經過6月40強賽沙迦的曆練 ，天氣對我們不是問題 。"
挺進12強賽後 ，武磊曾在接受本報采訪時表示，亞洲足球的格局已經發生了一定變化 ，各國國家隊都逐漸找到了適合自己的發展道路 ，所有球隊都在進步 ，對中國隊來說 ，如果可以激發出應有的戰鬥力，那麽至少就會有與任何對手周旋的可能 。最近幾天，以李鐵為首的教練組 ，也在不斷於心理層麵鼓勵大家：" 澳大利亞這支球隊最近幾年進行新老交替 ，教練組給我們灌輸的思想是，我們可以與他們抗衡 。"
