At the uppermost levels of esports, players will try any marginally advantageous thing they can think of to give them an edge over opponents. For one Street Fighterplayer, that involved a tape measurer.

Tokido regularly positions himself on stage with one of the best postures in all of esports, he often stretches before matches, and he sometimes can be found meditating before competitions. Making sure he's the perfect distance away from his monitor -- and thereby minimizing how much distracting eye strain he experiences while playing -- isn't really out of the question for him. Plus he's one of the best SFVplayers going right now, having just won ESL's Brooklyn Beatdown and Evo in the past few months.

Clearly Tokido wants to be a particular distance away from his monitor, and although we don't know the exact reasoning behind it, it's likely that he's trying to optimize his ergonomics — something that's extremely important for esports athletes to be mindful of.

Despite taking extra measures to make sure he was in the absolute perfect position for playing, Tokido didn't take home gold at TWFighter, ending this weekend's tournament in seventh place. Maybe he needs to adjust his measurements ever so slightly.
