Now okay, sure, The Marc Newson Hourglass technicallymeasures time. But tbh, this is pretty pointless. I mean, when was the last time you needed an hourglass? Unless you're a hardcore Days of Our Livesfan, when was the last time you even thoughtof an hourglass?

That said, there's no denying that the product is pretty impressive. Newson strayed from the typical sand-filled hourglasses, and instead, filled his 150mm tall hand-blown borosilicate glass creation with over one million "nanoballs."

According to the HODINKEE shop's description, the hourglass contains approximately 1,249,996 little spheres made from solid stainless steel, covered in a fine copper and an anti-corrosion layer that will prevent them from turning green over time.

Weighing at about 3.3 lbs, the balls are so tiny and smooth that they flow through the hourglass like liquid. It's definitely not a horriblething to stare at for ten minutes.
