門迪性侵案近來在足球圈內備受關注，抗辩根據《曼徹斯特晚報》的判决消息 ，門迪於北京時間9月10日出席了他的监禁聽證會。8月下旬 ，个月門迪因涉嫌性侵被逮捕。门迪8月27日，出席門迪性侵案在切斯特地方法院出庭舉行了首次聽證會 。性侵這位法國飛翼被指控犯有4項強奸罪和1項性侵罪 ，案听犯罪時間在2020年10月至2021年8月之間 ，抗辩這些指控涉及了3名16歲以上的判决女性報案人 。當時 ，监禁門迪向法院提出了保釋請求，但被駁回 。在9月10日的聽證會上 ，門迪穿著一件奶油色的慢跑服 ，向後坐下 ，雙臂交叉 ，聆聽著對他的指控 。
《曼晚》透露 ，門迪在整個聽證會的全過程未做任何抗辯 ，疑似認罪。法官宣布了此案的審判日期為2022年1月24日，審判會持續兩周半的時間 。據悉 ，在11月25日 ，法院還將舉行一次聽證會 。
目前 ，門迪被羈押在利物浦的一家監獄裏 ，無法被保釋 。這也就意味著 ，從現在到審判的將近4個月時間裏 ，門迪將一直待在監獄裏 。此前，門迪的鄰居向媒體透露 ：“門迪每周都要舉辦幾次派對 ，而且喝很多的酒 。他和不同的女孩進進出出自己的家 。”
