北京時間4月19日 ，已久已正页放言壮语皇馬主席弗洛倫蒂諾宣布歐超聯賽正式成立 ，欧超老佛爺成為歐超聯賽第一任主席 ，官网曼聯老板格雷澤和尤文圖斯老板阿涅利成為這項賽事的式上副主席 。按照計劃，出豪共有20支球隊參加歐超聯賽 ，蓄谋线首其中15支球隊是已久已正页放言壮语創始俱樂部，還有5支球隊需要通過其它途徑獲得參賽資格 。欧超不過，官网目前確定的式上創始俱樂部隻有12家 ，分別是出豪皇馬、巴薩 、蓄谋线首馬競 、已久已正页放言壮语曼聯 、欧超曼城 、切爾西 、利物浦 、阿森納 、熱刺、尤文圖斯 、國際米蘭和AC米蘭 。
在歐超聯賽宣布成立後，這項賽事的官網也隨即上線 。顯而易見，歐超聯賽的成立，並不是12家創始俱樂部的臨時決定 ，而是長期謀劃的結果 。歐超聯賽的官網地址是 thesuperleague.com，首頁是12家創始俱樂部的隊徽，並放出豪言，“超級聯賽 ，每周都有最好的俱樂部 、最好的球員參加。”
此外 ，歐超聯賽官網首頁還介紹了一些參賽規則，譬如前文提到的15家創始俱樂部和5家非創始俱樂部 ，共計20支球隊 ，以及每年8月份拉開序幕，20支球隊分為2個小組進行兩回合循環賽等等 。
