MRC and Netflix have decided to suspend production on House of Cardsseason six, until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew.

On Sunday, Broadway star and Star Trek: Discoveryactor Anthony Rapp alleged in a Buzzfeedarticle that Spacey made sexual advances on him at a party when Rapp was just 14. Spacey responded with an official statement, saying that he was "beyond horrified" by the allegations and also announcing that he's gay, an approach that was met with fierce criticism from the LGBTQ community.
Rapp chose to share his story in light of the dozens of women in Hollywood coming forward with stories of sexual assault and harassment they experienced at the hands of Harvey Weinstein, James Toback, and other men in the industry.
House of Cardspremiered in 2013 as one of Netflix's breakout original dramas. The show earned consistent Emmy nominations for Spacey and Robin Wright, as well as guest stars, direction, and writing for a drama series. Netflix has not made further comment regarding Rapp's story or Spacey's response.
