摩洛哥隊用一場勝利驗證了自己的“黑馬”成色 。
他們在卡塔爾世界杯足球賽八分之一決賽點球決戰中零封對手 ，西班最後以3:0（120分鍾0:0）的牙被牙大演的牙进比分力克強大的西班牙隊 ，淘汰“奪冠熱門”的淘汰同時 ，為非洲球隊在八強中占據了一個席位 。葡萄葡萄

比賽開始後 ，西班牙隊果然控製著場上的局麵。摩洛哥人更多的時候選擇11個人“龜縮”在本方半場 ，通過邊路配合尋找反擊機會 。
西班牙隊上半時最好的機會出現在第26分鍾 ，阿森西奧接隊友阿爾巴長傳 ，停球後角度過小 ，射門擊中邊網 。
上半時臨近結束 ，摩洛哥隊布法爾在左路連續創造了幾次機會，他在第42分鍾的傳中球找到隊友阿格德 ，後者的頭球稍稍高出 。
