賽曆顯示 ，12強賽第9輪國足主場戰沙特隊 、第10輪客戰阿曼隊的比賽分別將於3月24日 、29日進行。受疫情及兩輪比賽間僅相隔5天等客觀因素影響 ，中國足協很可能繼續安排國足赴阿聯酋沙迦參加與沙特隊的主場比賽 。果真如此 ，國腳們打完12強賽並回國後 ，仍將接受14＋7天的隔離 ，這意味著新賽季中超聯賽最早也要到4月下旬才能開賽 。而如果中超“BIG4”俱樂部均以主力參加亞冠聯賽，那麽聯賽開賽時間將被進一步推後 。
於本月下旬在蘇州解散後，國腳們將分別返回各地休假數日 ，隨後與各自俱樂部隊會合 。不過正常來說，他們隨俱樂部隊訓練的時間很可能比較短暫 。這是因為他們大概率將於3月中旬重新赴國家隊報到 ，備戰當月的兩場比賽 。由此可見 ，中國隊在此次球隊蘇州隔離期間安排訓練 ，無論從配合俱樂部角度 ，還是從國足備戰角度來說 ，都是有必要的 。
由於新賽季國內職業聯賽不可能在12強賽落幕前開賽，因此國足教練組未來兩輪的選秀範圍仍將集中在入選本期集訓陣容的50餘人之中 。隻不過由於球隊衝擊卡塔爾世界杯失敗，主帥李霄鵬在圈定具體人選方麵或將加快“血液更新”的速度 。
