皇家馬德裏在關鍵的数据聯賽次回合國家德比中擊敗巴塞羅那 ，而本輪比賽馬競被貝蒂斯逼平 ，预测西甲爭冠形勢徹底白熱化 。皇马著名的抡圆數據機構opta通過數學計算的方式預測了本賽季的聯賽排名 ，皇馬奪冠的本季可能性最大。
皇家馬德裏從目前的西甲賽程來看，剩餘8輪比賽中的强争前4場 ，隻有貝蒂斯一個老牌勁旅 ，冠皆剩餘3場是短板加迪斯 、赫塔菲和奧薩蘇納 ，数据齊達內需要帶隊一路斬獲連勝為未來的预测奪冠奠定積分基礎 。而後4輪聯賽對陣皇馬來說難度不小 ，皇马主場對陣塞維利亞和比利亞雷亞爾以及客場對陣畢巴都是抡圆硬仗 。
皇馬當下的本季整體陣容又因為傷病被嚴重削弱，未來不排除歐冠次回合和利物浦拚的西甲過猛 ，導致有新傷員的產生 。此外皇馬如果晉級歐冠半決賽，依然麵對雙線作戰 ，但屆時阿紮爾 、瓦拉內、卡瓦哈爾、拉莫斯等人複出 ，會讓齊祖在排兵布陣時有更多的選擇 。
馬競則是擁有奪冠的絕對主動權 ，床單軍團剩餘8輪聯賽一路連勝就可奪冠 ，特別是第35輪客場擊敗巴薩之後 ，幾乎將紅藍軍團踢出爭冠軍團 。但馬競的進攻如今出現了問題，蘇亞雷斯 、菲利克斯等人都有傷病，床單軍團鋒線成了鈍刀 。
而巴薩是目前西甲三強中整體陣容相對齊整的一支，和馬競一樣都是專心麵對西甲聯賽 。剩餘的8輪聯賽中，有5場是對陣中遊或者中下遊球隊。遇到的3個勁旅中 ，對陣潛水艇和瓦倫西亞都是客場，此外主場對陣馬競必須取勝。但巴薩最糟糕的一點是在爭冠軍團中沒有主動權 ，即使未來8輪全勝，但皇馬也是一路全勝的話 ，巴薩也無法奪冠 。紅藍軍團和馬競奪冠的可能性都是32.8% ，雙雙低於皇馬。
此外塞維利亞有超過90%的可能會獲得西甲第四 ，從而進軍下賽季歐冠正賽 。而埃瓦爾 、阿拉維斯和埃爾切則是降級概率最高的三個球隊 。
