搜狐體育消息，日足北京時間5月18日 ，协主席亞足聯上周宣布2023年中國亞洲杯易地舉辦 ，财政同時表示將盡快選出新的收益主辦國 。據《東京體育報》的有保愿承消息 ，日本足協主席田嶋幸三表示若財政收益有保障，障们洲杯日本足協方麵願承辦2023亞洲杯 。办亚
田嶋幸三在采訪中表示 ：“有人問賽事能不能在日本舉辦 ，日足我在思考能否在同樣的协主席日程裏舉辦。但是财政 ，因為亞洲杯是收益頂級的高級別賽事 ，所以費用和賽場的有保愿承安保等需要解決的問題很多。（在財政方麵）如果要付出太多的障们洲杯話就沒法舉辦了 ，但如果有收益保障的办亚話 ，我還是日足想在日本舉辦這屆賽事的 。”
據路透社消息，澳大利亞和印度無意承辦2023年亞洲杯 ， 亞足聯沒有太多選擇 。卡塔爾可能是明年亞洲杯的最佳候選地 ，但與另一個可能承辦的國家沙特一樣 ，天氣原因可能會讓明夏的亞洲杯提前到明年年初或者推遲到後年年初進行 。
