呂迪格與皇馬的明夏緋聞由來已久 ，這位德國中後衛與切爾西的自由转合同將於本賽季結束後到期 。根據The 蓝军Athletic的消息 ，呂迪格將在1月冬季轉會窗口開啟後與皇馬簽訂一份預合同。铁闸報道稱 ，月将预备自從今年8月切爾西向呂迪格提供了一份周薪14萬英鎊的皇马合同合同被後者拒絕後 ，雙方就再未進行過談判 。签订傳聞中 ，明夏呂迪格目前的自由转周薪為9萬英鎊 ，僅相當於他的蓝军德國老鄉維爾納和哈弗茨的三分之一，這完全不符合他球隊絕對主力的身份。
