北京時間10月18日 ，官方2022年金球獎最終獲獎結果揭曉 ，曼城马仅皇馬前鋒本澤馬榮膺該獎項。夺得第引而在同時公布的最佳争议年度最佳俱樂部獎項中 ，曼城最終問鼎 。俱乐克洛普治下的部奖利物浦名列第二 ，而歐冠冠軍皇馬名列第三 。项皇
該獎項為法國足球去年新增設的官方獎項，首屆獲獎者為切爾西 。曼城马仅
曼城在2021-22賽季英超聯賽中力壓利物浦問鼎冠軍，夺得第引在歐冠比賽中 ，最佳争议他們闖入了半決賽，俱乐但是部奖不幸落敗於最終的冠軍球隊皇馬 。
利物浦在上賽季連奪聯賽杯冠軍 、项皇足總杯冠軍 、官方在英超聯賽中落後曼城1分屈居亞軍 ，在歐冠中闖入決賽 ，最終遭皇馬的維尼修斯一劍封喉 ，痛失冠軍 。
皇馬則是拿到了上賽季的歐冠冠軍 、西甲冠軍 ，以及西班牙超級杯冠軍 。
值得一提的是 ，由於去年 ，首屆年度最佳俱樂部頒發給了歐冠冠軍切爾西 ，而本次歐冠冠軍皇馬卻是旁落獎項 ，該獎項的評選規則頗受質疑 。
特別是曼城與皇馬在歐冠有過直接對話 ，首回合藍月4-3戰勝皇馬 ，次回合回到伯納烏皇馬2-1將比分扳平，並最終在加時賽中憑借金球先生本澤馬的造點破門晉級決賽 。甚至就連第二名利物浦 ，也是皇馬在決賽中的手下敗將 。
