北京時間3月11日 ，申花岁上上海申花俱樂部官方宣布 ，免费江蘇隊隊長吳曦加盟申花 ，签下這名32歲的吴曦國腳球員將增強申花中前場實力。不過申花也麵臨尷尬情況 ，有喜有忧一線隊超過30歲的线队球員已達18名 ，再加上即將到達30歲的超人“高齡”球員 ，申花在上半程的申花岁上老將數量將達到22名 。
《體壇周報》表示 ：申花卻不得不麵對另一個現實 ，免费就是签下球隊內老球員過多 ，30歲以上球員已經達到了18名——楊旭33歲 ，吴曦金信煜32歲，有喜有忧博拉30歲 ，线队於漢超34歲 ，超人張璐33歲 ，申花岁上莫雷諾34歲 ，秦升34歲，孫世林32歲 ，曹贇定31歲 ，朱寶傑31歲 ，吳曦32歲，畢津浩30歲 ，約尼奇30歲 ，趙明劍33歲，馮瀟霆35歲 ，艾迪30歲 ，李帥38歲 ，曾誠34歲。
在隊內幾名29歲的球員中 ，孫凱和柏佳駿在3月底將年滿30周歲 ，朱建榮和彭欣力在7月份年滿30 ，也就是說在2021賽季開始的時候，申花隊內將有20名30+老將 ，半程的時候將有22名30+老將 。
