FIFA國際足球聯合會與其頂級合作夥伴大連萬達集團宣布共同啟動“星星之火”聯合項目 ，旨在更進一步點燃中國的中国足联之火足球熱情 ，發掘足球在中國的潜力启动巨大潛力 。
據悉 ，国际該項目圍繞中國的星星项目年輕一代展開 ，鼓勵球迷和大眾關注中國足球的挖掘下一代 ，對未來寄予希望。中国足联之火中國這個人口大國正日漸成為體育超級大國 ，潜力启动促進足球文化在中國的国际普及對FIFA國際足聯實現“讓足球運動真正全球化”的美好願景具有重要意義 。
“星星之火”項目將持續至FIFA 2022年卡塔爾世界杯結束 ，星星项目在此期間FIFA國際足聯和萬達集團將在線上線下展開多種形式和內容的挖掘合作，聯合打造獨特的中国足联之火社交媒體內容 ，吸引更多的潜力启动新一代足球愛好者和年輕球員參與其中 。與此同時雙方還將通過不同的国际推廣活動 ，讓中國球迷能夠擁有終生難忘的星星项目FIFA 2022年卡塔爾世界杯體驗 。
“星星之火”項目將以一條引人深思的視頻拉開帷幕 ，通過中國知名足球人劉建宏的視角 ，聆聽中國社會的聲音 ，以兩代人對於中國足球截然不同的態度切入 ，尋找中國足球的發展之路 ，並呼籲大家記住孩子們對中國足球的美好希望 。
“推進足球運動的全球化是FIFA國際足聯願景的核心 ，我們非常感激大連萬達集團加入我們的行列 。我們堅信足球能對社會產生積極的影響 。” FIFA國際足聯市場營銷總監Jean-François Pathy表示 ，“項目誌在提升和重塑大眾對中國足球的認知，為中國足球的成功之路奠定基礎 。我們堅信‘星星之火’項目將為實現以上目標 ，起到至關重要的作用 。”
萬達集團2016年成為FIFA國際足球聯合會頂級合作夥伴 ，雙方的長期合作關係將持續至2030年 。此前萬達集團在大連投資建設了世界一流的大連青訓基地並通過希望之星項目輸送了近200名小球員前往歐洲足球俱樂部接受訓練。
在國足順利晉級12強賽後 ，“中國足球”再度成為一個焦點話題，其中青少年足球培養工作也備受關注 。針對“星星之火”項目，萬達文化產業集團總裁曾茂軍表達了極高的期待：“我們的目標是為中國足球年輕一代打造新的足球文化 ，我們希望年輕人認同這種文化並引以為傲 。當下年輕一代對中國足球的未來充滿希望 ，我們期望能守護他們的信念 ，為他們提供所需的平台和機會 ，幫助他們真正成長為中國足球的未來。”
