在球員生涯末期 ，合影魯伊-科斯塔回到了老東家本菲卡 ，祝贺而當時初出茅廬的於大寶也在本菲卡效力 ，兩人當過一段時間的俱樂部隊友 。
本菲卡的前任主席路易斯-費利佩-維埃拉因涉嫌洗錢 、詐騙 、逃稅等行為在今年7月被捕，隨後由魯伊-科斯塔臨時接手主持俱樂部工作 。目前 ，本菲卡的新主席選舉工作已經結束 ，魯伊-科斯塔正式成為俱樂部主席 。
