本月23日 ，海港上海海港隊將在亞冠資格賽中，亚冠预备對陣菲律賓球隊卡雅。名单由於中超下一階段賽程何時開打未有定論 ，出炉考慮到多線作戰的队为杜佳整體需要，海港俱樂部經多番研究 ，班底最終確認了征戰亞冠資格賽的傅欢球隊和教練組名單 。本周六（19日）中午12:20，领衔全隊將乘坐航班飛往泰國備戰比賽 。海港
自賽季初確認遞補參加亞冠開始 ，亚冠预备海港隊就一直在就亞冠的名单參賽陣容做著實時計劃 ，在條件允許的出炉情況下 ，俱樂部希望能夠盡可能賽出好成績 。队为杜佳這也是班底為何在賽季初 ，海港隊並未像往年一樣，傅欢安排更多球員租借外出鍛煉 ，多線作戰且賽程暫無定論的局麵下 ，球隊需要充足的人手 。對海港俱樂部而言 ，既希望有更多球員得到鍛煉機會 ，但一係列客觀條件兵不允許他們"敢"於提前放任球員外租離隊。
過去一段時間 ，海港俱樂部內部一直在商討出征亞冠的陣容配置 ，這當中還需要與一線隊教練組進行溝通 。為了避免賽程衝突，同時考慮到球隊回國後的隔離需要 ，此番出征亞冠的海港隊 ，以預備隊陣容為班底 ，在此基礎上增加了杜佳 、傅歡 、張衛 、張一 、雷文傑 、陳威 、陳純新 、聶孟這些此前身在一線隊征戰中超聯賽比賽名單中的球員 。至於主教練人選 ，則確定為俱樂部青訓顧問 、日本籍主帥金子隆之 。
按照原定賽程，菲律賓球隊卡雅將同澳洲球隊布裏斯班獅吼展開爭奪 ，勝者麵對以遞補山東魯能而入圍本屆亞冠的上海海港隊 。此後隨著澳洲球隊的相繼退出，卡雅將直接在6月23日麵對海港 ，勝出的一方將獲得一張今年亞冠正賽小組賽的入場券 。根據此前的分組抽簽結果 ，海港一旦晉級 ，會同衛冕冠軍蔚山現代 、泰國聯賽冠軍巴吞聯和越南電信同在F組 。
