按照計劃，沪媒或出打完12強賽與越南隊的强赛确定比賽之後 ，國足並未在第一時間啟程回國 ，出局而是后足协在河內就地休整一天 ，然後乘坐北京時間2月3日淩晨兩點鍾的内部商業包機返回上海 ，隨後前往蘇州太湖香穀裏足球訓練基地 ，现变在那裏進行為期14天的沪媒或出醫學隔離觀察 。隔離期滿後 ，强赛确定國足教練和隊員返回各自俱樂部 ，出局進行2022賽季前的后足协冬訓和備戰 。
因為航班和航線安排的内部原因 ，國足不得不搭乘"紅眼航班" ，现变但也正因為如此 ，沪媒或出在農曆大年初一給球迷添了堵的强赛确定這支球隊 ，可以"安靜"地回到國內 ，出局少了一些被現場"指指點點"的尷尬 ，以至於有圈內人士發出感歎，如果中國足球能多一點這樣前瞻性的做法 ，也不至於淪落到輸給越南隊的地步了 ，畢竟"留給中國男足的對手真的已經不多了" 。
外界的調侃和譏諷 ，作為國足主帥的李霄鵬可以選擇無視，但眼下他必須要麵對的一個問題 ，就是在已經出局的情況下，如何打好12強賽最後的兩場小組賽 。
據悉 ，與越南隊的比賽結束後 ，洛國富 、阿蘭和蔣光太三名歸化球員便各自返回巴西和英國 ，武磊也連夜告別教練和隊友前往西班牙巴塞羅那 。根據賽程 ，中國隊將在3月24日和29日分別在主場和客場對陣沙特與阿曼隊 ，而從目前的情況來看 ，屆時國足的主場大概率會繼續放在第三方 ，這也就意味著，包括武磊在內 ，這些在海外的球員很有可能會缺席國足三月份的集訓 。
而從阿蘭和洛國富兩人在這次對陣日本與越南隊比賽的表現來看，顯然沒有達到國家隊的標準與要求——即便歸化球員能夠出戰12強賽最後兩戰 ，誰又能保證他們的狀態和發揮比這一次更好呢？
事實上，讓李霄鵬頭疼的遠不止幾名歸化球員 ，畢竟在輸給越南隊之後 ，中國隊目前在積分榜上隻領先對手2分 ，如果最後兩戰皆負而越南隊贏下同樣已經出局的阿曼隊的話 ，就可以把中國隊擠到小組最後一名的位置上 。
盡管在上任之前 ，李霄鵬的目標就已經確定為打好2023年在本土舉辦的亞洲杯賽 ，但是僅僅兩場12強賽之後，他的表現就已經引發了外界的質疑，一旦最後兩場比賽再有什麽閃失 ，身上的壓力無疑會成倍增加 。另外據消息靈通人士透露，在12強賽確定出局之後，足協內部或會出現一些變故 ，至於時間節點 ，"也許很快，也許要到12強賽全部結束之後"。
