皇馬主席弗洛倫蒂諾在今夏的首選引援目標是姆巴佩 ，為了簽下姆巴佩 ，皇馬願意出售一些球員籌集資金。《世界體育報》指出 ，如果尤文願意開價4000萬歐元 ，對於一位年過三十的中場老將來說，皇馬可能將難以拒絕這樣的報價 。今夏皇馬已經連續放走了拉莫斯 、瓦拉內等球員 ，如果再賣掉克羅斯 ，球隊的更新換代速度將加快 。
尤文此前曾試圖求購洛卡特利 ，但利物浦 、阿森納等英超豪門都在搶購這位歐洲杯冠軍中場，而尤文轉而考慮克羅斯 。不過媒體也指出，尤文需要先賣掉隊內的中場拉姆塞。威爾士中場拉姆塞在2019年自由加盟尤文，但他在意甲始終沒有拿出當初在阿森納時的出色表現 ，如今已經被尤文列入可出售名單 。
